I spent the first 17 years of my career in publishing, both in the UK and Spain, negotiating the sale of translation rights between publishers in different countries around the world: Europe, North America, Middle-East, Asia.

After a move to Brussels in 2006, I worked for the UK government's Department for International Development (DFID). Much of my time was spent negotiating development policy texts within the European Council, where not only competent communication skills, but diplomatic know-how, was required.

Four years later I was recruited as Communications Officer for a pan-European, multi-stakeholder company that sources EU funding for research and innovation. I facilitated the exchange of information through the company website, written articles and press releases, and by organizing brokerage events, workshops and conferences.

Since relocating to the Geneva Region in 2014, I have been providing copy-editing and proofreading services to a range of companies and organizations on a freelance basis. Whether in Switzerland, France, another European region, or even a different continent, I love the challenge of crafting language and maintaining the highest standards of simple, clear, accurate English.
